The Model United Nations program culminates in a four-day conference in Chicago hosted by the University of Chicago (MUNC) that provides high school students from around the world the opportunity to participate in a simulation of the United Nations at work. Over three thousand high school students each year come to the Hyatt Regency Chicago to represent UN member nations and address international crises. The purpose of the Model United Nations program is to educate high school students in the art of debate, negotiation, and public speaking, and to introduce them to the complex realities of international relations. The experience at the conference allows students to see the potential of the United Nations in resolving international problems while also revealing the institution’s limitations.
Visit the Model United Nations of the University of Chicago website at https://munuc.org/ for more information.
All conference events will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
