This Saturday, March 12 the Mundelein High School Band Program is hosting the 55^th annual Mundelein Jazz Invitational.  After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are excited to welcome 43 High School and Middle School jazz groups from 27 different schools from 8 am – 6 pm this Saturday.  Performing groups will perform for an audience consisting of professional jazz musicians and educators who will provide written and audio feedback to the musicians.  Each performing student will also have the opportunity to work with professional musicians to hone their own musicianship.  For a full list of this year’s clinicians and adjudicators please check out the Mundelein Invitational Website. 

 

The Bob Lark Jazz Septet will be this year’s guest artist performing from 12:40 pm-1:40 pm.  The Bob Lark Jazz Septet is a group of distinguished, Chicago-based jazz musicians.  The Jazz Septet performs regularly at Chicago’s Jazz Showcase performing original works by members of the band as well as tunes from the “The Great American Songbook.”

 

Admission to this year’s festival is $10 for adults and $5 for students.  Concessions will be served all day in the MHS Cafeteria.  Here is the full schedule for the event.
