What is FAM?

FAM, Freshman Advisory at Mundelein, is Mundelein High School’s advisory and mentoring program for freshmen. Through regular meetings with an advisory group and ongoing individual mentoring, FAM helps students navigate their transition to high school.

FAM strives to meet the following objectives:

  1. Freshmen will report feeling a sense of belonging and connectedness to the MHS community.
  2. Freshmen will know how to get involved at MHS.
  3. Freshmen will know how to get additional support at MHS.
Supported by other MHS programming, FAM will also reinforce the development of self-advocacy, self-management, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Through coordination with other MHS programming and with a focus on the MHS core values of equity, growth, and collaboration, FAM strives to help each and every freshman become connected to the school community and feel a sense of belonging at Mundelein High School.
