For the second year, the Mundelein High School Art Department will host the Mundelein All- Area Art Show in the main gym Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday, April 12. A formal reception will take place April 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with music provided by the MHS Chamber Ensemble. Each of the elementary and middle school districts that send students to MHS has been invited to participate in the show. Last year, five area schools participated. This year, 10 schools will participate along with MHS. Those participants include Carl Sandburg Middle School, Diamond Lake Elementary, Fairhaven Elementary, Fremont Middle, Fremont Intermediate, Fremont Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Mechanics Grove Elementary, Washington Elementary and West Oak Middle.

All forms of artistic expression will be on display, including but not limited to, painting, drawing, sculpture, photo, collage, mixed media, etc. Many of the student artists will also be on hand.

“It is one of the highlights of the year for all participating parties as it brings student artists from all levels together side by side to exhibit student achievement in the visual arts,” said Jonathan Pruc, MHS art faculty member. Michael Bale and Peter Schrenk also teach in the art department at MHS. David Mork is the fine and applied arts department chair.
