BLACK STUDENT UNION HOSTS STRONGER TOGETHER RALLY
Mundelein High School's Black Student Union held a Stronger Together Rally on Saturday to promote peace, love and togetherness. Mundelein community members gathered at Keith Mione Community Park as students and special guest, former Chicago Bears player Rashied Davis shared their stories on prevailing racial injustice, struggles they face today and how to spark change in the world.

Kevin Myers, districts 75/120 superintendent and assistant principal for teaching and learning,Stacey Gorman shared their support and commitment to making Mundelein High School a safe learning environment for all students.
"Yesterday was a wonderful day and it made me so proud to be a Mustang," said Blair Winter, MHS faculty member. "Jeanne Herry has given the black students of MHS a homeplace, a place that is safe for them to be completely themselves, where they feel supported and in community. She has given them the space and trust to raise their voices. She has supported them and made them feel seen and heard in a way that the rest of us have not. She has inspired them to be proud of who they are and where they come from and to know that they deserve just as much as every other student.
Jeanne has done this all while being in an extreme minority among our staff, while navigating microaggressions in our very school from myself and others." " It really is hard to express how powerful yesterday really was," said Neil McCarthy, another MHS faculty member. "Our students were truly heroic, as they demonstrated such passion and brave dedication to this cause. We must all be "in the boat" together. And Jeanne's humble and inspired leadership makes our community stronger. I, too, am proud to be a Mustang."
