Boys Cross Country team to compete in California
The Mundelein High School Boys Cross Country Team has been invited to, and are now registered to compete in, the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic September 15 at the SilverLakes Sports Complex outside Los Angeles, California.
Work started after the invitation was received last winter. After seven months focusing on logistics and funding efforts the Mustangs are ready to run!
“The Woodbridge Invitational is one of the most prestigious invitationals in the nation,” said Troy Parola, MHS athletic director.
Many of the top-ranked teams in the nation will be there and the boys track team will run in the showcase race at 10 p.m. PST under lights. It is one of the few courses in the nation rumored to be faster than Illinois’ own state course at Detweiller Park.
“California, get ready for the Mustangs!” Parola concluded.
