On Saturday, February 13, a few members of the Mundelein High School Byte Club participated in a national coding competition sponsored by the prestigious Colorado School of Mines. One team made up of Kajal Patel, Steffen Brown, and Peter Zakariya, won first in the state of Illinois. The competition included high school students from all over America, who were given 15 math and logic problems that had to be solved entirely with code in any language of their choice. The codes had to pass a variety of tests, from output to efficiency to time restraints.
Brown said, "It was a fun yet challenging way to spend my weekend. I was so excited to see we placed as high as we did!"
