COLLEGE WEEK 2021!
College Week at MHS is happening again, LIVE and IN PERSON! We are so excited to offer a variety of events throughout the week of
October 12-15 to help our seniors apply to college and find their future fit! Read on to learn more, and then
register for all events in your Naviance account.
Tuesday, 10/12: All About the Money!
During all lunch periods, our ISAC (Illinois Student Assistance Commission) Representative, Alexis Alvarez, will be presenting to our students about the FAFSA and Financial Aid in the CCRC. All grades welcome!
Evening:
FAFSA Completion Workshop. This event is for seniors or juniors who plan to graduate early and attend college in the 2022-23 school year and their families. It will be held from 5-8pm in rooms C103 and C104.
You MUST register in Naviance for a 45 minute timeslot.
Registrations for this event ARE LIMITED! Get free, professional assistance submitting your FAFSA!
Wednesday, 10/13: Write it Out!
We are holding an Essay Writing Workshop during all lunch periods in the CCRC. Stop in to learn how to brainstorm your essay topics, get some tips about writing, and ask for help or a quick review!
Thursday, 10/14: Apply for FREE!
The big event! Our
FREE COLLEGE APPLICATION DAY for seniors will be taking place in the main gym during all lunch periods. We have 25 colleges attending who either have free applications or are waiving their application fee for our students for this day only!

Evening:
IACAC College Fair at CLC.
Over 100 colleges will be represented at this fair, held in the College of Lake County’s main gym from
6-8 pm! If you are attending, consider having your student register at
strivefair.com to allow them to quickly provide their information to colleges to get on lists to receive more information.
Friday, 10/15: Finish Your Applications!
Let’s finish this! The CCRC will be open to students all day long and students are encouraged to stop in to receive assistance with any questions from anything learned during the week: Financial Aid, Essays, or Applications. If you are ready, we will also happily assist you in checking things over before you ultimately submit your applications!

Martes 10/8: Todo sobre el dinero!
Durante todos los períodos de almuerzo, nuestra Representante de la Comisión de Asistencia Estudiantil de Illinois (ISAC, por sus siglas en inglés), Alexis Alvarez, presentará a nuestros estudiantes sobre la FAFSA y la Ayuda Financiera en el CCRC. ¡Todos los grados son bienvenidos!
Noche:
Taller de finalización de la FAFSA. Este evento es para estudiantes del último año o del tercer año que planean graduarse temprano y asistir a la universidad en el año escolar 2022-23 y sus familias. Se llevará a cabo de 5:00 a 7:00pm en las salas C103 y C104.

Miercoles, 10/9: ¡Escríbelo!
Estamos llevando a cabo un taller de redacción de ensayos durante todos los períodos de almuerzo en el CCRC (B105). Visítanos para aprender cómo intercambiar ideas sobre los temas de tu ensayo, obtener algunos consejos sobre la escritura y pedir ayuda o una revisión rápida.
Jueves 10/14: ¡Aplique GRATIS!
El gran evento! Nuestro
DÍA DE SOLICITUD UNIVERSITARIA GRATUITO para seniors se llevará a cabo en el gimnasio durante todos los períodos de almuerzo. ¡Tenemos 25 universidades que asisten y tienen solicitudes gratuitas o están renunciando a su tarifa de inscripción para nuestros estudiantes solo por este día! Viernes 10/15: Completen sus solicitudes
¡Terminemos! El CCRC estará abierto a los estudiantes durante todo el día y se les anima a pasar para recibir ayuda con cualquier pregunta de cualquier cosa aprendida durante la semana: ayuda financiera, ensayos o solicitudes. Si está listo, también lo ayudaremos con gusto a revisar las cosas antes de que finalmente envíen sus solicitudes.
