The future of Mundelein Theatre will be on display on the Mundelein High School stage in an upcoming production of the espionage comedy, Spy School, by Don Zolidis.

The cast, made up mostly of 30 freshmen and sophomores, is known as the New Faces production. The show also includes some juniors who have not been in a mainstage production as MHS.

The show will be performed on Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 10-12 at 7:30 p.m., and a 3:45 p.m. show on Friday, Nov. 11. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. The matinee performance on Friday is only $2 for MHS students.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.mundeleintheatre.org. Tickets will also be on sale at the door thirty minutes prior to each performance.

Spy School is the story of an ordinary teenager who is drafted by the CIA in 1961 to become a super-secret agent. Her mission is to infiltrate an American high school to locate a Russian spy about to send classified space program information to the U.S.S.R.

Because of the number of interested students, director Jeff Harding double-cast the show to ensure that everyone received an opportunity to perform.

I am so excited to have thirty students as a part of our show,” Harding said. “Since there are two casts performing, we hope that people will take the opportunity to see each cast give their unique rendition of the show.

“I am always excited to direct the New Faces show each year. It provides a great opportunity for the younger performers in our school to get a positive experience in the theatre, as they hone their skills and prepare for future roles in our mainstage productions.”
