Performance at the Mustangs home football game

Fans attending this Friday's home football game will be treated to the first performance of the Marching Mustangs 2011 field show It's About Time: 50 Years of MHS. The band will perform a variety of songs related to time including Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show and Steely Dan's Reeling in the Years. The band will also perform their traditional pregame show prior to kick. As always, fans can count on the Marching Mustangs playing throughout the game from the stands with your favorite "chasers" and drum cheers from the MHS Drumline. We hope to see you out for the year's first performance!

Information for Marching Mustangs students:
  • Call Time: 5:30 PM in the MHS Band Room
  • Approximate Dismissal: 9:45 PM
  • Music
    • Show Music Memorized
    • All stands tunes and chasers in flip-folio
    • Drum Cheers memorized
  • Uniform:
    • B uniform shirts and shorts
    • BLACK SOCKS
    • DrillMaster marching shoes
    • *You’ll change into A uniform when you arrive
    • *You’ll also receive gloves when you arrive
    • Remove any visible jewelry or cover with a band-aid
    • Long hair should be braided or in a pony tail and should be kept out of your face and off of the front of the uniform completely.
  • Performance Guidelines
    • Eat dinner before you arrive (there is no eating in uniform)
    • You may drink only water while in uniform
    • Cell phones should be off and put away while in uniform
    • “A” uniforms are worn completely or are stored completely. Do not wear your uniform in an incomplete manner at any time. Coat should be zipped, sash should be fastened, and coat collar should be secured at all times.
    • Following any performance, your uniform must be checked in with a parent before you are dismissed
    • Leave any space we use better than you found it
    • Use GAMEDAY vocals!

Information for Parents
·          Student call time: 5:30 PM in the MHS Band Room
·          Approximate Performance Times
o    Pregame: 7:20 PM
o    Halftime: 8:30 PM
·          All students are expected to stay for the duration of each home game with the exception of the Flag Corps. Once the game is done (approximately 9:30) they will need to store their uniforms and clean/clear the band room and auditorium prior to dismissal. Most students will be dismissed between 9:45 and 10 PM.
·          Volunteering: if you are interested in helping during the game simply come to the band office or the band room at the student call time. There, other parent volunteers will help coordinate the many tasks that take place each game day such as uniforming the students, filling water jugs, moving equipment, etc. Band Parent Volunteers gain free admission to the football games and are able to sit on the field with the band to help with communication, organization, and hydration!
