The Mundelein High School instrumental music department will present its Fall Concert Thursday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium. Admission is free.
The Concert Band will perform Steel (2011) by Randall D. Standridge; As Torrents in Summer (1896/1988) by Edward Elgar/arr. Albert Oliver Davis; and Polly Oliver (1977) by Thomas R. Root.
The Symphonic Band will perform Free World March (1956) by Karl L. King; Prospect (1835/1983) arr. by Pierre La Plante; and Sinfonia Six (1982) by Timothy Broege.
The Honors Symphonic Winds will play Folk Dances (1942/2009) by Dmitri Shostakovich/arr. James Curnow; Nimrod (1899/1965) by Edward Elgar/arr. Alfred Reed; Satiric Dances (1975) by Norman Dello Joio; and Mother Hubbard March (1885) by John Philip Sousa.
The Honors Wind Ensemble will perform Tribute (1986) by Mark Camphouse; Elegy for a Young American (1967) by Ronald Lo Presti; Festivo (1987) by Edward Gregson; and Bravura March (1918) by Charles E. Duble.
Andy Sturgeon directs the Concert Band and Honors Symphonic Winds and Jerald Shelato directs the Symphonic Band and the Honors Wind Ensemble.
