Fifteen Mundelein High School art students have earned more than $2 million in scholarship offers. They will participate in the Illinois High School Art Exhibition ceremony/art show on Sunday, March 8, at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago.
“This is our State competition for the Visual Arts,” said Jonathan Pruc, art teacher at MHS. “Our students competed against hundreds of other students for awards, prizes and college scholarships.”
Brenda Olayo will participate in the Early College Program (ECP) Scholarship Exhibition. Other MHS exhibitors include:
General Exhibition: Hannah Cho, Willow Ottoman, Brianna Martin and Jamie Ketchum; Senior Scholarship Exhibition: Fatima Campos, Max Castillon, Alyssa James, Claudia Kuran, Bella Marotti, Jori Oztunguc, Becca Panos, Dayna Teemer, Ryan Wilson and Nan Wu.
Senior scholarship winners not participating in exhibitions include Ashley Lopez, Edwin Martinez Perez, Charlie Moran, Caitlin Morey, Eva Tejeda and Brooke Testin.
The Mundelein High School art staff includes Jonathan Pruc, David Mork and Peter Schrenk. Larry Calhoun is the Fine and Applied Arts Department Chair.
