Founded in 2018 by Lawrence Maligaya, an MHS alum, the Mundelein Explorers Scholarships provide financial support for immersive, pre-college opportunities to promising students at MHS. Originally founded as a STEM scholarship, the MHS Explorers Scholarship has been expanded in 2019 to include a scholarship in the arts. The Mundelein STEM Explorers (MHS STEM-X) Scholarship provides opportunities to promising students who are interested in STEM topics and careers. The MHS Arts Explorers (MHS Arts-X) scholarship provides opportunities for students who are interested all arts and forms of expression including but not limited to, music, performing arts, visual arts, theater, dance, and creative writing

These scholarships are open to all current juniors, sophomores and freshmen but preference will be given to current juniors in the class of 2020.
