Mundelein High School will celebrate its annual Homecoming Week Sept. 6 through 10 with a number of events and activities planned for the week.
The Spirit Dress-Up Days will include Red, White and Blue Day on Tuesday, Hawaiian Day on Wednesday, Pajama Day on Thursday and Scarlet/Gray Day on Friday. “Under the Sea” will be the theme for Homecoming 2016.
Other activities scheduled include Powder Puff games on Wednesday at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. and the traditional Senior Girls Sleepover on Wednesday from 8 p.m. to midnight.
On Homecoming Day, Friday, Sept. 9, the majority of activities will take place. The Homecoming Assembly is set to begin at 1 p.m. and will conclude at 2 p.m. with the crowning of the King and Queen. The parade will follow beginning at 3:30 p.m. Because of the Hawley Street construction, the parade will begin at the Village Hall, proceed west on Division Street, north on Midlothian and west on Hawley to the football field. The homecoming soccer game will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the varsity football game at 7:30 p.m. against the Zion-Benton ZeeBees.
Homecoming Week will conclude with two activities on Saturday, Sept. 10. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the opening of the new building addition is set for 9:30 to 11 a.m. which will include a formal ceremony followed by student-lead tours of the new facility. The Homecoming Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. will conclude Homecoming Week 2016.
