Gabriella Scibetta, a 2014 Mundelein High School graduate who worked as a sports editor on the MHS student newspaper The Mustang, will graduate this weekend from Southern Illinois University and is looking forward to her new career.  She will be a member of the ESPN Production Department.  She studied journalism at SIU and was a member of The Daily Egyptian sports news staff.

This past fall, she spoke to the MHS newspaper class about her journalism experiences in college and how working on the high school newspaper prepared her for her chosen career path.

“Gabriella knew exactly what she wanted to do job-wise as a sophomore in high school when she first took Introduction to Journalism. It’s been amazing to see her pursue that goal so passionately and to watch all her hard work pay off with a dream job,” The Mustang Adviser Michelle Didzbalis said.

Scibetta’s sister Gianna is the current editor-in-chief of The Mustang and will also graduate this weekend.
