A staff recognition ceremony for Mundelein High School staff members was held Wednesday, May 15 at the Hawthorn Woods Country Club hosted by Superintendent Kevin Myers and Principal Anthony Kroll.
Ten staff members were honored for being granted tenure: Stevee Bellas, Kelli Goodwin, Leah Kolcz, Lauren Morley, Kristina Rizzo, Georgina Mendez, Jesse Piland, Rebecca Plaza, Carsyn Rodriguez and Peter Schrenk.
Recognized for 10 years of service were Arti Bhandari, Mary Bledea, Daniel Crowe, Sheri Drost, Laura Garcia, Katie Giambeluca, George Kaider, Andi McCulloch, Chris Michalides, Ana Ortiz, Jesse Piland, Joe Santora and Brett Wilhelm.
The 15-year group consists of Ryan Buck, Melissa Buenik, Tom Buenik, James Drier, Reed Christensen, Brian Evans, Paul Franzen, Justin Hart, Corey Knigge, Aracely Lawrence, Jonathan Meier, David Mork, Angela Stanisz and David Whitson.
Honored for 20 years of service were Jeff Harding, Andrew Hirshman, Chris Hoster, Kristy Kowalski and Dean Petros.
The 25-year group includes Michael Dayton, Michael Hickey, Todd Parola and Maria Sanchez.
Retirees honored include Caryl Clem, 22 years; Cindy Dean, 17 years; Brian Evans, 15 years; Jennifer Franco, 26 years; and Connie Hauswald, 12 years.
The event also included presentation of The Mustang Star Award which goes to several staff members each year for a variety of reasons. This year’s honorees included Julie Block, math; Ryan Buck, English; Sol Cabachuela, parent liaison; Anna Grig, Literacy Center; Andi McCulloch, math; and Nicole Pomerleau, special education.
Roughly 125 people attended the event.
