MHS to host annual Miles for Mustangs Turkey Trot

Mundelein High School will host a 5K at 9 a.m. and a one-mile Kids and Family Run/Walk beginning at 10 a.m. on the MHS track Thursday, Nov. 28, Thanksgiving Day. Awards will be presented immediately following the mile.

The pre-registration fee is $25 with a Nov. 25 deadline and $30 at the track on race day. To preregister, visit the MHS website at www.d120.org and click on the shopping cart in the top right-hand corner.

The free one-mile Fun Run for kids 10 and under will have $10 shirts available. Parents or siblings may participate with the children in the mile free of charge but will not receive a shirt.

T-shirts will be provided to all participants registered on or before Nov. 25 and to race day registrants while supplies last. A light breakfast will also be provided for all participants.

Registration and Packet Pick-up will take place Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the main entrance of Mundelein High School.

Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers in 5K age brackets as well as the top male and female immediately after the kids’ mile. Additional awards will be raffled at the conclusion of the mile. All children participating in the mile will receive a prize upon completion of their race.

The 5K course is 3.1 miles over the turf surface on the track as well as on the street, sidewalks and park paths surrounding the MHS campus. The one-mile course will be run only on the Mondo surface track.
