Model UN students earn awards; 86 MHS students attend

model un conference

Two MHS students won awards at the Model United Nations [UN] conference this year, which was Feb. 1-4 at the Palmer House in Chicago. Gillian Beginski and Nicolina Bottiglieri won a verbal presentation award for serving on the International Criminal Police Organization Committee. They will eventually be sent certificates of recognition from the Model UN organization.

This year 86 MHS students participated in the conference. MHS represented the United States, Bolivia, Cameroon, and Jamaica. Again, they were one of the largest delegations at the conference, which included nearly 3,000 students from around the country and the world.

Stacey Darcy and Andrew Hirshman serve as advisors to the Model UN group.
