The Mundelein High School Jazz Ensemble will perform at the legendary Jazz Showcase at 806 S Plymouth Ct in Chicago on Monday, March 3.

Founded in 1947, the Jazz Showcase, 806 S. Plymouth Ct., is the oldest historic jazz club in Chicago. The Mundelein Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:15 p.m. as an opening band for the Bob Lark Alumni Big Band. General Admission tickets are $20 and VIP tickets are $30.  

The students in the Mundelein Jazz Ensemble have been preparing music for this gig for the past several weeks and are excited to perform in this iconic venue. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Mundelein Jazz Ensemble is performing at this venue. 

“Getting an opportunity to play at the Jazz Showcase always has me prepare the music differently,” said senior Jazz Ensemble member Chloe Langford. “As someone who wants to go into music, it’s encouraging to play at a venue that is as well known as the Jazz Showcase.”

Daniel Fishel, a new member of the Jazz Ensemble, said he is “looking forward to getting to play at a venue that has so much history and has hosted so many amazing jazz musicians.”
