Mundelein High School will host a Winter Jazz Concert and an Eighth Grade All-Star Band Concert on Jan. 16 and 17 respectively. Both concerts are free and start at 7 p.m. in the MHS Auditorium.

The Jan. 16  concert will feature the Honors Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra and will include Minuano by Pat Metheny, Oyo Como Va by Tito Puente, Cruisin’ for a Bluesin’ by the Maynard Ferguson big band.

The All-Star Concert will feature the Honors Wind Ensemble, Concert Band and members from the eighth grades from Carl Sandburg, West Oak, Fremont and Hawthorn Middle School North.

Andy Sturgeon and Jerry Shelato direct the instrumental music program at MHS.
