Three students at Mundelein High School received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Issac Fuksman, Elaina Kasamis and Ethan Nelsen join 34,000 students nationwide as Commended Students and are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2022 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, these students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2020 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
“It’s really quite an achievement being named Commended Students,” MHS Principal Anthony Kroll said. “We’re very proud of these students, not only for performing so well on the qualifying test, but for how they reach academic excellence on a daily basis here at Mundelein High School.”
Part of the goal of this recognition is to help these students to broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them throughout their academic careers, a spokesperson for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation said.
