New Faces Onstage at Mundelein Theatre

MHS Theatre Presents Diamondbacks, Diamonds in the Sky October 24-26

The youngest theatre artists at Mundelein Theatre will perform on the Mundelein High School stage at the end of October. Diamondbacks and Diamonds in the Sky, a seriocomic play by Jill Pertler, will be presented as the school’s New Faces Production. The cast is made up of 28 freshmen and sophomores, as well as juniors and seniors who have never appeared on the MHS main stage. The show will be performed on Wednesday, October 24 at 3:45 p.m., Friday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. The matinee performance on Wednesday is only $1 for MHS students. Tickets may be purchased at the box office prior to each performance.

Diamondbacks and Diamonds in the Sky starts as a simple tale of a wedding, but grows into a story about the complexities of love, with a dash and a half of humor thrown in on the side. And… just when you think things couldn’t get any more complicated, an asteroid hits. Is it the end of the world, or just the beginning?
