The future of Mundelein Theatre will be on display on the Mundelein High School stage in their upcoming production of A Wicked Christmas Carol, by Bobby Keniston.

Known as the New Faces production, the cast is made up of 34 freshman and sophomores, as well as juniors and seniors who have never appeared on the MHS main stage. The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11, 12 and 13, and at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. The matinee performance on Thursday is only $2 for MHS students.

A Wicked Christmas Carol is a delightful and heartwarming holiday play that is great for the entire family. The story is an ingenious combination of two classic stories, A Christmas Carol and The Wizard of Oz.  The Wicked Witch of the West is visited by three ghosts on Christmas Eve, and she is taken through her past, present and future by characters from the magical world of L. Frank Baum’s Oz books.

“I am very excited to be directing this year's New Faces show,” said MHS teacher Jeff Harding. “This show provides a great opportunity for the younger performers in our school to get a positive experience in the theatre.

“It is such a thrill on my part to get the chance to work with these young performers and help them to hone their skills as they prepare for future roles in our mainstage performances. This show is a lovely holiday story that will leave our audiences smiling with a tear in their eye.”

Tickets can be purchased at www.mundelein theatre.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, 30 minutes prior to each performance. All those entering Mundelein High School are required to wear a mask.
