    MHS students earn first, second place in essay contest

    Mundelein High School students took first and second place among Class III Americanism Essay Contest entries submitted to the Mundelein American Legion Auxiliary and Post. Sophomores Matthew Willis and Alica Brak wrote responses to the question, "How to Promote Old Fashioned Patriotism While Recognizing Where We Have Fallen Short?" Their responses earned first place for Willis and second for Brak with cash prizes of $50 and $25, respectively. Judges from Mundelein’s American Legion Auxiliary #8​

    The Mundelein Theatre Group Interpretation (GI) team recently competed in the 2021 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Drama and Group Interpretation Tournament.     Mundelein High School Senior AVID student, Jillian Adams, has been offered and has accepted the The Lighthouse Scholarship at North Park University. This is a full tuition scholarship. With grants and additional scholarships, she was offered a total of $32,280 per year. She intends to study exercise science. North Park University created the Lighthouse Cohort Program to offer academic and financial support for urban, first-generation college students who have demonstrated academic success. Each​
