    Job Fair to target summer employment and beyond

    Mundelein High School will host a job fair for all students ages 15-18 on Wednesday, March 11, in the commons. The event will last from 10:35 a.m. to 2 p.m. While many organizations will be pitching summer employment opportunities, the event will also highlight summer internships, post-high school career opportunities and career talks with employers about post-college graduation possibilities as well.     Senior earns full tuition scholarship to Trinity Christian College

    Mundelein High School Senior, Leslie Osorio, has earned a full tuition scholarship to Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL. Known as a “first gen” student, Osorio is the first person in her family to attend college. The award was presented on Friday, Feb. 28, with her parents, counselors and several of her teachers on hand. Osorio plans to major in nursing and minor in Spanish.     MHS to host Civics Fair March 5

    For the third year, Mundelein High School will hold a Civics Fair featuring Advanced Placement (AP) US and Comparative Government students. The event will take place Thursday, March 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the high school’s commons area. Among the scheduled guests for the Fair will be Mundelein Mayor Steve Lentz and representatives from the offices of Melinda Bush and Daniel Didech and possibly others.   • Sound, the mixed show choir, compete on stage

    Show choirs place in competition; prep for upcoming concert

    Mundelein High School’s three show choirs were on the road again Feb. 15 as they competed at the Naperville North’s Clash of the Sequins event. Lights, the all-female group, was first runner-up in the single gender division and Sound, the mixed choir, made the finals, finishing the day in fifth runner-up position.     First generation college student, Carmen Gutierrez, Class of 2017, has taken all opportunities available to her at the University of Illinois, including studying abroad.     MHS alum appointed by Michigan governor

    Zaneta Stinson Adams, a 1995 graduate of Mundelein High School, was recently appointed to the position of Director of the State of Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency. She was honored in 2017 as a recipient of the MHS Distinguished Alumni Award. Zaneta is an army veteran and also founded the Women Injured In Combat (WIIC) organization.
