    County Clerk provides voting education to Transition Center participants

    Feb 08, 2024

    Dozens of young adults from several Transition Centers throughout Lake County tried out voting machines for the first time on Wednesday, thanks to the Lake County Clerk’s Office and the District 120 Transition Center. Approximately 74 transition participants (of programs that help them transition from high school to adulthood) registered to vote, filled out ballots and placed “I Voted” stickers on their coats.

    District 120 to wait until November ballot for next referendum

    After taking no action Tuesday night to place a facilities referendum on the March ballot, the Mundelein District 120 School Board instead will consider putting the question to voters at the general election in November. The Board’s Finance and Facilities Committee recommended waiting until next fall, citing a need to provide more time for public input and to further refine the proposed projects.

    MHS students receive national academic recognition

    Ten Mundelein High School students are receiving national recognition from their PSAT/NMSQT testing. MHS will honor the students with an Academic Awards Breakfast on Thursday, Nov. 16. In addition to the National Merit Scholarship, academic honors are awarded to underrepresented students through the College Board’s national recognition programs. Juniors are eligible if they score in the top 10 percent on the PSAT/NMSQT by state in the eligible exam periods.
