Nine Mundelein High School students were honored at a Mustang Pride breakfast including their parents and the staff members who nominated them. Students may be nominated for a number of reasons, both academic and social. Some of those reasons can include acts of kindness, raising a grade or grade point average significantly, tutoring other students, assisting staff members in class and many others.
This month’s honorees and their nominating staff members include: Madeline Aquino, nominated by Andrew Sturgeon; Julissa Argomaniz-Aparicio, nominated by Martha Ambrey; Steffen Brown, nominated by Manny Aldana; Angela David, nominated by Jonathan Pruc; Susi Nieves, nominated by Sol Cabachuela, Mike Dayton and June Kim; Carly Rand, nominated by Ryan Heidner; Bianca Rico, nominated by Andrew Hood; Audrey Schiro, nominated by Nancy Toland; and Inez Shelato, nominated by Leah Kolz.
During the breakfast meetings the nominating staff members give a brief introduction of their honorees, stating the reasons for the nomination. Following the awards, the parents of the honorees join their children and staff members enjoying breakfast together.
“What a great way to start the day at our amazing Mustang Pride breakfast where staff recognized nine of our incredible students,” said Dean of Students Meghan Bargar who, along with Principal Anthony Kroll, host the event.
