Mundelein High School’s Robotics Team scored another big win at the VEX Robotics Competition held in Huntley, IL Dec. 14. The winning robot finished with a 5-2 record (sixth seed, eighth overall) against 30 other teams from 14 schools. The championship qualifies another robot to compete in the state championship in March.
Because of the accomplishments of the team this season, MHS Robotics also received an invitation to compete in a nation-wide invitational at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Virginia.
“Words can’t express the admiration I have for the hours of work that our students have put in,” said Manny Aldana who coaches the team along with Andrew Hood. “As sophomore Eddy Hogea said, ‘winning the first one was so good, we had to do it again!’”
This is the second year Aldana and Hood have coached the team.
