MHS Senior Kimberly Barr was recently notified that she has earned the Chick Evans Scholarship for golf caddies that covers tuition and housing for all four years. She will be attending the University of Missouri and has been accepted into the honors college there.
The Evans Scholars Foundation awards full tuition and housing scholarships to high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. Established in 1930 by the Western Golf Association and celebrated amateur golfer Charles “Chick” Evans, Jr., the Foundation administers the nation’s largest scholarship program for caddies. Currently, 965 students are enrolled at 19 universities, including 14 where the Evans Scholars Foundation operates Scholarship Houses. More than 10,500 men and women have graduated as Evans Scholars.
“Mundelein high school is amazing at preparing her for her next adventure,” said Cindy Barr, Kimberly’s mother.
