Our Student Services department will be hosting an upcoming Parent Education Night with the topic of Social Media Safety. This presentation will be provided in collaboration with Lake County Deputy Sheriff, Francis Foy who will join us for the event. The presentation will highlight the following topics:
- Positives and negatives of social media
- Popular types of social media platforms for teenagers
- Education on texting lingo your student might be using
- Information about the addictive nature of technology
- Strategies for parents/guardians
- How to talk to your teen about social media safety
- Recommended guidelines for safety
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the topics listed above and consider what items they may want to include in their own “family technology contract”
This event will be hosted on Tuesday, April 18th from 6:30-7:30 PM at MHS. Presentations will be available in English and Spanish. If you plan to attend, please fill out the RSVP form linked HERE by April 14, so we know how many individuals to account for.
