Mundelein High School graduate Mike Vukovics has been named head coach of the girls water polo team beginning this season. Vukovics is in his first year teaching at MHS in the wellness department.

Vukovics graduated from MHS in 2001 and later earned a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University. Since that time he has coached football for eight years, basketball for one year and track for two years. It will be his first time leading a girls water polo team. The new coach has prior teaching experience at Big Hollow Middle School in Ingleside.

“Mike’s years of coaching experience with other sports will serve him well in this position,” said Troy Parola, MHS athletic director.

Vukovics will be assisted by another  MHS alum, Amanda Boothe, who was a member of the girls water polo team during her high school career.
