The Mundelein High School Girls Volleyball team will host its Cancer Awareness Night on Wednesday, Oct. 20 in memory of Kristen Meister, a Mundelein teacher who passed away last summer.

All proceeds raised will go to The Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation in memory of Kristen.

The Mundelein High School Girls Varsity Volleyball teams will match up against Zion-Benton in the MHS gym. Freshman A & Sophomores play at 5 pm, and Freshman B & Varsity play at 6 pm. There will be a 50/50 raffle and raffle baskets to win. We are also asking for a donation to enter the game.

Kristen taught Kindergarten at Washington.  She had also taught at Mechanics Grove. Her husband, Kent, teaches at MHS. All of her kids went through the Mundelein schools; her youngest is a freshman at MHS this year.

Dedicated to the courageous spirit of Lynn Sage, a local woman who battled breast cancer for 6 years and lost the fight, the Foundation supports innovative contributions to the understanding, research and treatment of breast cancer, in partnership with Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
