An energized group of Mundelein High School's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the 2023 Fall Leadership Retreat held in southern Illinois. The annual retreat brings together top FBLA students from across the state for intensive leadership training, career workshops, and networking with business professionals.

The student leaders in attendance were Xander Ede, Zach Glazer, Gabriella Goodson, Aidan Hanrahan, Adrian Rosales, Azael Sanchez, Bruce Searle, Benjamin Segura, Elizabeth Sharay, Michael Townsend, Anthony Vynnyk, and Olivia Wallace.

This year's retreat kicked off with a rousing keynote address on the keys to great leadership, delivered by Certified Speaking Professional Kent Julian. FBLA students dove into intensive workshops spotlighting essential leadership capabilities - from mastering the nuances of different leadership styles to harnessing the untapped power of strategic mindsets. Then FBLA Collegiate officers gave them event planning and execution tips. The pinnacle for many attendees was the exclusive industry roundtable session, a chance to gain real-world advice straight from business professionals.

The program included visits to St. Louis's iconic Gateway Arch, the one-of-a-kind St. Louis City Museum, and next-gen entertainment hot spot The Edge.

“The chance to enjoy awe-inspiring new experiences with close friends is what makes our FBLA events truly unforgettable,” said MHS FBLA Adviser Chris Hoster.

The Mundelein contingent is looking ahead to FBLA's next marquee events - the 2024 Area and State Conferences, followed by the highly anticipated National Leadership Conference.
